Peaks in the Dosewallips Group are detailed in Chapter 2 of the Climber's Guide to the Olympic Mountains. This group is in the Middle-East sector of the Olympic Mountains (see map below).
Central to this group is the Anderson Massif with the rugged West Peak (7365 ft) being the highest followed closely by Mt Anderson. Better rock can be found on Piro's Spire. Except for Mt. Jupiter, all the peaks are over 6000 ft but many are easy alpine hikes or scrambles. Outside the 7000 ft peaks, many are seldom visited because of the long approaches. These "easy" peaks make nice high points on cross country alpine traverses. Mt Jupiter has a trail to the summit, which once sported a Forest Service fire lookout and is usually accessible during most months of the year. ![]() Scanned page from the Climber's Guide showing the Dosewallips Group area.
