Peaks in the Wynoochee Group are detailed in Chapter 7 of the Climber's Guide to the Olympic Mountains. This group is in the Southern sector of the Olympic Mountains (see map below). In this part of the Olympics the peaks are all below 5300 feet and brushy approaches are common. The terrain is typically steep, wooded and brushy. The rock formations are massive flows of pillow basalt and breccia. Some peaks are popular hikes, others are early spring snow climbs, but many are seldom visited. This is one of the wettest areas in the United States.
